Jura ENA Micro 1 Review Summary
The Jura ENA Micro 1 is a mid-priced espresso maker that brews espresso, ristretto, and americano coffees from the convenience of your own kitchen.
If you love good espresso, then you’ll know how quickly stopping at a coffee shop daily becomes expensive. While this version is pricier than other models, if you drink a lot of espresso and value quality, it will save you money in the long run.
A simple and intuitive LED touchpad uses icons to guide you through the espresso-making process. Because it’s so easy to use, the Jura ENA Micro 1 is perfect for beginners.
Don’t have time to spare in the mornings? No matter because the micro brewing unit heats quickly and delivers a delicious coffee in under two minutes.
The appliance is both compact and eco-friendly. Its small size won’t take up much space in your kitchen. And the multiple energy-saving options incorporated into this device will help you save cash on your power bill.
The device is compact and takes up minimal counter space. Much smaller than other espresso makers, it measures just 12.7 by 9 by 17.5 inches (H x W x D).
JURA Inc. is owned by its parent company JURA AG of Switzerland. It has been designing espresso machines for decades and its automatic coffee makers are now sold in more than 40 countries worldwide.

Features and Benefits of the Jura ENA Micro 1 Automatic Coffee Machine
There’s plenty to love about this nifty little machine. After my Jura ENA Micro 1 review, I was impressed by several features. Let’s take a closer look at those now.
Good for the Environment
The Jura 13626 ENA 1 Automatic Coffee Machine is environmentally friendly compared to many other coffee makers. Because it uses coffee beans instead of pods, there’s very little plastic waste. It only makes a single cup at a time, so there’s no wasted coffee, either.
An automatic energy-saving mode reduces power usage and you can program the Jura ENA 1 to shut itself off at a set time — ideal for forgetful bean addicts. A patented zero-energy switch boosts energy efficiency even more.
Built-in Grinder
Jura has incorporated a conical burr grinder into the unit’s design. Beans are dispensed from the four-ounce bean hopper and ground when you’re brewing espresso for the freshest possible flavor. You can choose your preferred grind level to adjust your coffee’s flavor profile.
Coffee beans are kept fresh with a unique aroma preservation cover. There’s also a bypass function that allows you to use grinds instead of beans.
I like that the grinder is much quieter than comparable models. If you’ve ever woken your non-morning-person partner up at 8 am on Saturday because you were grinding beans, you know why this matters!
Simple, Uncomplicated Operation
Jura’s 13626 automatic coffee maker is designed to make it super easy to brew espresso, even if you’re a novice. The LED touchscreen display is intuitive and straightforward. Choose from three user-defined cup sizes and two strengths. Because the ENA 1 is fully automatic, it’s impossible to mess up your coffee.
You can still customize your brew, though. By changing the aroma strength and the cup size, you can create the kind of coffee that puts hairs on your chest or make a long, lazy brew for Sunday afternoons.
Integrated Cleaning Cycle
Even the cleaning and maintenance of this device is easy. Cleaning a coffee maker can be tedious and time-consuming, but not with the Jura 13626.
The display has indicator lights for its filter, water tank, ground coffee, and coffee grounds container. In addition, an indicator light comes on when it’s time to descale the appliance.
Just place a Jura cleaning tablet in the bypass doser and let it do the work. Rinse the drip tray as needed and empty the grounds container about once a week. There’s no other manual cleaning involved.
Water Filter
The Jura ENA 1 uses a water filter to ensure that its espresso has the best possible taste. Filters prevent the development of scale and remove substances that detract from the flavor of espresso. The device will helpfully remind you when it’s time to change the filter.
15 Bar Pump Pressure
With 15 bars of pressure, the Jura 13626 quickly extracts the most flavor out of coffee beans, resulting in great espresso every time. Espresso’s taste profile is highly dependent on pressure. Too little pressure and the espresso will be weak and watery. If too much pressure is used, on the other hand, the result is bitter, over-expressed espresso.
To make good espresso, at least 8 bars of pressure is needed. Most coffee machines have a minimum of 9. There’s some debate about how much pressure is ideal, but I’m a card-carrying, 15-bar coffee addict so the Jura fits the bill perfectly.
Micro Brewing Unit
Jura’s automatic espresso maker uses a micro brewing unit that produces 1450 watts of power. It heats up quickly and produces espresso that’s the perfect temperature.
Intelligent preheating combined with the stainless steel Thermoblock boiler means the unit can brew a shot of espresso in less than two minutes. These are powerful features that are seemingly out of scope with the Jura ENA 1’s diminutive size.
What Do Users Say About the Jura 13626?
Personally, I think this is a great selection for excellent home espresso. It brews consistently and reliably and you don’t have to leave the comfort of your own home. I also appreciate the unit’s slick modern aesthetics that will suit most, if not all, kitchen.
However, I also researched what other buyers think of the Jura ENA Micro 1 for a balanced review.
So, what do people who use this espresso machine regularly say about it?
Most owners love their ENA 1 Micro. By and large, users praise the espresso quality of, and many use their Jura daily. People also enjoy that they don’t have to manually clean the appliance thanks to its automated cleaning process.
In particular, the people who love this machine are people who love straight-up espresso. If your favorite coffee drinks are milk-based, then you will need a separate milk foamer, unless you’re content with a splash of unfoamed milk.
That all said, the Jura 13626 ENA 1 is not without complaints. In particular, the price so if you’re watching pennies, a cheaper machine may suit you more.
A few buyers note that it only makes one cup at a time, but that’s usually the price you pay for such a compact machine.
